EXPASCAN workpackage‚ Ecological Study‘ (Bencko, V., et al.)

Within the district, there is a higher incidence of non-melanoma skin cancer, but not of lung or bladder cancer.

The comparative cancer incidence figure relates the age-adjusted incidence rate in the vicinity of the plant (< 7.5 km) with the age-adjusted rate in the distant part of the district (>= 7.5 km).

Incidence rates are elevated for both basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin.
