Stratification is a technique in which data are stratified by the levels of confounding factor and the relative risk estimates are compared between the different strata. If the effect is thought to be uniform in all strata, the Mantel-Haenszel relative risk (RRMH) is computed. Hypothesis testing is performed on the unconfounded estimate using the Mantel-Haenszel chi-square and the confidence interval is calculated.
