Results of the Prospective Cardiovascular Munster (PROCAM) Study1 confirm the Framingham data given in the preceding slide. PROCAM showed that the incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD) decreased with increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels among a group of 4,407 German men, aged 40–65 years, followed for 6 years.
