Case Four happened outside of a medical facility or hospital. This boy had general anesthesia in the past. At that time after 15 min of sevoflurane, he abruptly developed an end tidal carbon dioxide > 70 mmHg, heart rate of > 150/min, and core temperature increased from 36.7 ºC to 39.4 ºC. He received dantrolene and recovered without sequelae from that anesthetic. Post operative creatine kinase was > 9,000 IU. Eight months later, he played football. After the game, he developed ascending weakness and became hot & stiff. He suffered a cardiac arrest from which he could not be resuscitated. Post mortem exam identified a causative mutation for MH susceptibility in this patient (14,15).He never had an IVCT. Is this MH?
