Recent reports have noted other health risks related to flying; notably the possibility of developing deep vein thrombi from prolonged periods of inactivity on long haul flights. Atrial defibrillators are now also becoming standard equipment on planes to handle medical emergencies. The risks related to these events are not yet known.
