Online entrepreneurs, business and medical, have rushed to cash-in on the Internet Bonanza, and promises of “once in a lifetime” wealth, often placing their own financial interests above the welfare of patients. These actions are in direct conflict with the Principles of Medical Ethics; they have been a driving impetus for establishing Medical Internet Ethics.
