Health was seen here as a holistic experience, in line with the definition by WHO (1948)  as ‘a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’. Recently health was proclaimed to be a human right and actions and commitments were added to the constitution to address the determinants of health, worldwide (WHO 2005).
