Each value represents the mean level of chloroform in plasma samples collected from swimmers present in each swimming pool. (range: 0.1 - 3.0 µg/l)

Chloroform in plasma depends on chloroform in water and in ambient air (r= 0.47 and 0.74, p<0.001 respectively), number of swimmers in the pool (r= 0.32, p<0.001), time spent swimming (r= 0.57, p<0.001).
