This cover is from the proceedings of the 1987 faculty conference.  It illustrates the lively and ethnically diverse society many of us are aspiring for.  At this conference I gave my first serious presentation on ethnicity and health entitled ‘Health care for Asians: conflict in need, demand and provision.’ In the intervening 17 years some, but not all, of those conflicts have been resolved
