The IPCA set up a commission with the PAHO acting as the Technical Secretariat, much like with the SCI, in order to combat Chagas disease.  As Secretariat, the PAHO is responsible for “verifying surveillance, sharing information about progress of neighboring countries, processing requests to the WHO for certification of interruption and eradication, and preparing the annual meetings” (Vines, 6).
