(a)The human respiratory track branches repeatedly from the largest airway, the trachea, to the smallest, called bronchioles. Gas exchange does not occur across these airways. The system of airways ends in clusters of tiny sacks called alveoli.
(b) Alveoli are  covered with capillary networks and (c) are the site of gas exchange.
