Death Rates for Coronary Heart Disease by Country Women Ages 35-74, 1970 and 1993 (Rate/100,000)

Even though many Western countries experienced substantial decline in coronary heart disease mortality between 1970 and 1993, mortality from coronary heart disease in women in Japan declined and remained one of the lowest in the world during this period.

In other Asian countries, e.g. Singapore and China, coronary heart disease mortality did not change much during this period.
