The 15 regiments which answered this request stated that they had 15 cases of pocket instruments, 6 sets for amputations, two sets for trepanning, 75 crooked needles, 3 pairs of bullet forceps, 6 straight needles, a few bandages, ligatures, and tourniquets, 4 scalpels, 3 pairs of bullet forceps, and only 2 ounces of sponge.
