A highly contagious gastroenteritis of pigs. Small intestinal enterocytes infected and are shed to give severe villus stunting - similar to rotaviruses. Malabsorption diarrhoea. All ages are susceptible but the effects vary according to age: < 1-2 weeks: usually fatal; > 5 weeks: usually recover.
