I’d like to begin by way of giving a little bit of background on NAGPRA…the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.  Public Law 101-601 was passed in November of 1990.  In the year prior, the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) Act was passed, facilitating repatriation of objects held within the Smithsonian Museum.
