Slides for histology must be post fixed with formic acid. Over Thirty Month Slaughter, (OTMS) but certain grass-reared beef exempt.
The beef on bone ban has now been dropped in the UK because cases of BSE are now very few and animals in the age range for BSE, over 30 months old,
are not eaten (see http://www.defra.gov.uk/ ).
Swedish legislation: No recycling of any animals or poultry in food.
USA legislation: No importation of ruminants or their products, e.g. foetal bovine serum for cell culture form the UK.
