The X2 distribution is obtained from the sum of the squares of many standard Normal variables. The number of independent variables commonly used in this sum are the "degrees of freedom."
This procedure is similar to that we used in other presentations, where we referrer results of Z in Normal distribution tables or t results in t distribution table.
