Vaccines:
Attenuated virus are applied by scarification on the inside of the thigh, where lesions are unimportant, at 1 and 3 months of age. Ewes should be vaccinated annually behind the shoulder at least 6 weeks before lambing on a dry day. All susceptible animals must be vaccinated simultaneously as vaccinal virus may spread and infect the flock. Vaccinated stock must not be allowed access to lambing areas's for 4 weeks, why? During an outbreak all lambs can be vaccinated. For human safety wear gloves and dispose of unused vaccine into disinfectant (not the bin).
