About 1% of all colorectal cancers are due to FAP.  By age 40, almost all people with this disorder will have developed cancer if preventive surgery is not done.
 
HNPCC accounts for about 3 to 4% of all colorectal cancers.  Lifetime risk of colorectal cancer with this condition may be as high as 70-80%
