Up to 90% of diabetic patients have Type 2 diabetes and by the
year 2010 the worldwide prevalence of Type 2 diabetes is predicted to
exceed 215 million patients; this compares with the predicted increase
in the prevalence of Type 1 diabetes to 25 million patients.
