Over the past four decades, the amount of protein in trout feeds has increased from 36% to 44%, and the amount of fat in trout feeds has increased from 5% to 20%.  Fat levels will likely increase further, but not to the extent found in Atlantic salmon feeds.  As protein and fat levels have increased, levels of starch and fiber have decreased, as have feed conversion ratios.
