Current ultrasound instrumentation with transducers>8 MHz are most capable of identifying the walls of the arteries . The near wall and the far wall have two echogenic lines separated by a hypoechoic space . The inner line correspond to the lumen-intimal interface and the outer to the medial-adventitial interface.
