In her autobiography, she describes three caveats attached to her appointment, viz., she would not be offered membership in the Faculty club, she would not be permitted to march in the academic procession and sit on the platform when the degrees were conferred, and she would not be eligible to receive tickets to the Harvard – Yale football game!
