Classical dengue shock syndrome (incorrectly labeled as grade II) illustrated by narrow pulse pressure at time of peak elevation of hematocrit (hypovolemia) thrombocytopenia, pleural effusion after initiating fluid repletion. Note short time course, complete reversal of vascular leak within hours. There is grave danger in overhydration.
