Although in Sweden snus is kept refrigerated, I believe in this study the packs were not kept refrigerated and even then there was no increase in TSNA levels over 6 months in the snus product. Not the marked increase in TSNA levels in Copenhagen, the leading US snuff product. This shows that the product continues to ferment over time in the can, ending up with TSNA levels over 30 times greater than the snus product.
