The AR shows the actual incidence of disease that is due to the Factor V Leiden mutation and/or exposure to OCP use. If women were given the option of being tested for the Factor V Leiden mutation, and those who were positive did not use OCP, then 97% of the cases of VT in this group of women could be prevented.
