The products of the synkaryon segregate half to MIs and half to MA anlagen. If the anlagen fail, they can be replaced by old MA fragments that can have many copies of the MA minichromosomes. The figure gives classic meiosis with haploid gametes. N is haploid as 2 n is diploid.
