I have calculated the risks of risk factors and benefits of interventions in an average 45 years old diabetic man in United Kingdom. I also calculated what is life expectancy would be whether he smoker or nonsmoker, normotensive or hypertensive, with different levels of cholesterol. And I also calculated possible benefits from stopping smoking and with the treatment of hypertention and hypercholesterinemia. Smoking reducing life expectancy for about 4 years, hypertension reduces life expectancy by around 5 years. So, treating of risk factors is benefit for attempting to restore full life expectancy.
