As predicted by our hypotheses, we confirmed that males had a higher prevalence than females, migrants were at greater risk than females, and that prevalence based on urban populations had a higher level than those from rural or mixed geographical areas. These findings were generally consistent across studies.
Together with the results of other special groups and the core studies, these results suggest that the prevalance of schizophrenia is varied.
