23 discrete cohorts reported either cumulative prevalence proportion or other measures of the occurrence of schizophrenia. Some generated multiple publications reporting the prevalence of schizophrenia over time. These cohorts came from nine sites listed above.
Because of differences in the age of the cohorts, the estimates are not readily comparable; however the highest cumulative prevalance were reported from Finland and the United States.
