This is the first of three slides that shows the bivariate association between our 3 service variables of interest and client retention over time. In each graph, a Kaplan-Meier survival curve is shown for each level of the service variable. Each curve plots the proportion of clients that were retained up to the number of days indicated on the X-axis. For example, as shown by the red dotted lines on the graph for males on the left, you can see that about 50% of male clients who had at least 2 outreach contacts had retention times of at least 400 days. For both gender groups, retention times among clients with at least 2 outreach contacts were significantly longer than among those who had only one or none at all. Those with only one outreach contact were the most difficult to retain in care with most dropping out of the program within a few months of their first encounter with the program.
