This slide shows that good public health policy can have a huge payoff. This shows the reduction of blood lead levels and the sales of leaded gasoline. In 1976 the mean blood lead level in the U.S. was 15µg/dl, in 1980 9µg/dl, in 2005, 2µg/dl.
