Activity Level: Look at activity level of the child. Ex: Child with spastic quadriplegia needs more calories, as they move more.

Body Composition: Look at % muscle and % mass vs. % fat mass. If there is too much fat or muscle, must adjust calories.

Monitoring: Examine the amount of calories and amount of protein consumed over time. Make changes and see how this affects weight.
