It is called follow-up study as cohort, which is exposed to a suspected factor but not yet developed the disease, is observed and followed over time.

Follow up study may be misleading and should be very carefully used as follow up carried out for disease outcomes or treatment outcomes is not a cohort study.

For example, if a tuberculosis patient is followed up during his treatment for its outcome, it is not a cohort study.
