  • Instantaneous incidence rate (new cases per unit time relative to disease-free population at risk at time t.)

FOR LONGER STUDIES:

  • Cumulative incidence (disease risk during a specific interval/length of that interval)
  • Cumulative incidence rate (summing the products of incidence rate and interval length over a series of intervals)
