For the purposes of the analysis we have divided interventions into four main groups already described by Joel:
  • Drug use eg. Early diagnosis and effective treatment
  • Personal and community protection such as insecticide treated bed nets or curtains.
  • Vector control such as residual spraying or larviciding where mosquito breeding sites are treated with insecticide.
  • Finally we will be looking at Social Action and management effectiveness health education such as provision of information to patients, care givers and pregnant women on methods for the prevention of malaria, vector control etc etc.
