Over the years, sales of books have made
the enterprise self-supporting.
In addition, many audits and interventions have
been conducted, in both hospital and community practice. We have repeatedly
shown that Guidelines by themselves do little, but Guidelines augmented by drug
audit, practitioner reflection and specific change strategies can improve
prescribing practice.
