This is an old slide suggesting that fatty streaks only begin in the second decade, based on information from Korean soldiers.  We know now from the PDAY study and more recent information that this whole process is accelerated such that fatty streaks are now sometimes seen in infancy and certainly before the age of 5 years, with atherosclerotic disease by the twenties and thirties.
