Urbanization reduces the birth rate, yet so slowly. Nostalgia for the Good Old Days that perhaps never existed is a chronic theme, favored even by some anthropologists. Unfortunately, some of this cry for rural freedom from want is based upon the deterioration of the environment by the same superpopulations that long live on these lands.
