The first study in which the disease was associated to oil ingestion was performed in a pediatric hospital in Madrid. After checking that antibiotic administration to children did not improve their health status and they presented symptoms like those produced by an intoxication, a correct hypothesis was established in order to develop a study in which they observed the first evidence of a relationship between a specific type of oil and the disease.
