Are the northern, educated and industrialized Mexicans typical migrants? Does the US need farm or skilled labor or both? Canada does. Is no natural resources to industrialize, as in rural Nicaragua with a high birth rate, at the root of much of the problem? Or is the lack of an industry-oriented education the fault? How does the aging US population integrate with the high fertility migrant population? Has the pensioners to workers ratio (PWR) been considered in any way? What proportion of migrants return to Mexico with Social Security (SS)? Perhaps 0.20 PWR in the US. Immigration will lower the cost of SS by adding workers. Can immigration revitalize a community? Meanwhile, the US continues to strengthen border control. New US laws expedite removal of unauthorized migrants and restrict welfare benefits to legal immigrants.
