Now let us look at the trends for these cancers. We have seen that men and women tend to get different cancers, so we need to look at men and women separately.
Lung cancer is usually fatal and about two thirds of the cases occur in men. However, the incidence of lung cancer has decreased substantially in men, so the death rate from lung cancer in men has also fallen substantially.
