The need for the adoption of Evidence-Based practice stems from the concept that evidence-based approach to patient care creates the need for clinically important information about diagnoses, prognosis and therapy. It is important to delineate what Evidence Based Medicine IS NOT;

 1. EBM is not a dangerous innovation.

 2. Evidence-Based Medicine is not perpetrated by the arrogant.

 3. Evidence-Based Medicine is not meant to serve cost cutters.

 4. Evidence-Based Medicine is not meant to suppress clinical freedom.
