By interrelating the missions, concepts, definitions, and scopes learned in this first lecture, you the students should be able to appreciate the very existence and the great career opportunities of toxicologic epidemiology. At the end of this lecture, you the students should also be capable of interrelating toxicology with epidemiology, and interrelating public health with health risk assessment. In short, you will accept that the wedlock of epidemiology and toxicology shall be one of the very powerful tools in accomplishing the broader mission of public health, especially in industrial and developing countries.
