Two major forms of long-term memory: explicit (declarative) and implicit (procedural). Explicit or declarative memory is the memory for persons, places, and objects and requires conscious participation for recall. Implicit or procedural memory is the memory for perceptual and motor skills, which is evident in performance and does not involve conscious participation for recall.
