Reporting of HIV prevalence seems poor with no attempt to map the AIDS epidemic beyond its broadest aspects. Perhaps in the future information will become available from uniformly collected data at the city level.

Map 1. South Africa with 6 other countries: Namibia, Botswana, Zibabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Seven countries are included in Map 1. Add the large island of Madagascar which is in the Indian Ocean. Map 2 centering on Mozambique has Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa again and Swaziland, making 11 countries for 2 maps.

South Africa is extraordinarily important because it has universities equivalent to any other good ones elsewhere.
