For example, between 2000- 2003, the HIV/AIDS prevalence in Donga-Mantung division has increased from 11 to 14 % among different categories of the population. In 2002, 112 ( 74.2 %) of 151 of the general population, 9.5 % blood donors, 25 % voluntary persons and 11.2 % antenatal clinic attendants in the Nkambe health District were positive for the HIV infection (Bambu, 2003). In these two divisions, youths have been hard hit by this disease in their prime economic active live. Many children have been left without parents and the poor aged are taking care of poor orphans. The country is suffering because the economic output of the citizens has dropped and poverty is on the increase.
