Geriatric Epidemiology Office--Tamara Harris, M.D., M.S.
The Geriatric Epidemiology Office integrates molecular and genetic epidemiology and interdisciplinary studies of functional outcomes, disease endpoints and mortality in older persons. This includes identification of novel risk factors and design of studies involving biomarkers, selected polymorphisms and exploration of gene-environment interactions. Studies in the Geriatric Epidemiology Office have involved particularly metabolism and nutritional risk factors, chronic inflammation, and comorbid risk factors and diseases. 

Biometry Office--Dwight B. Brock, Ph.D.
The Biometry Office: Conducts research in the mathematical, statistical, and numerical aspects of aging and health. Studies factors that affect health, disease, and longevity and is responsible for methodologies used in research programs related to aging. Performs a variety of functions involving the development and application of mathematical and statistical methods for EDB Program data on the epidemiology and demography of aging and health. Provides statistical consulting, computing, graphics, and data management services to the other units within EDB as well as other Programs within the NIA, other NIH Institutes, other Government agencies, and the private sector.
