More recently, fear of falling has been described in seniors who live in the community.

Range of consequences:

-One consequence is increased caution during activity performance. By having some fear of falling, seniors may be more attuned to possible safety hazards and pay more attention to how they can move around safely in the environment.

-Other consequences are the excessive restriction of activities and/or reduced quality of life. Since these consequences may threaten physical and mental well-being of seniors, we are more concerned about these effects.
