Dam or canal construction is another factor that can causemalaria outbreaks in normal malaria areas or even malaria free areas (MARA, 1998).
Interestingly, the malaria transmission pattern at village level was different from the general pattern at district level. At least in four villages, rainfall, a significant positive correlation with malaria incidence. So, as the rainfall increases the malaria incidence increases as well.
